Unicron consumed every planet, galaxy, and very nearly all the stuff that existed in the old realms leaving only the void. The tiny leftover fragments that he missed reacted in an explosion that created the universe. The sentient core of the universe sensed that Unicron was a threat to its existence, so it created Primus to oppose him. The Void! He and his children succeeded. On the Edge of Extinction!

Ask Vector Prime

When Cyclonus, a time-traveller, died before his creation, the resulting timestorm caused a dimensional shock in other universes. The timeline was also fractured, with Primax 290.03 Gamma as one of the results. • Primax 984.20 Gamma is the universal stream designation corresponding to the UK portion of the Marvel Comics continuity, taking its specifications from the UK publishing date of the first issue.
• Although it appears at first that Primax 984.20 would be, within Marvel Comics parlance, Earth-120185, the Marvel designation is used to describe the Earth that Death's Head was on at the time he first learned of Rodimus Prime's bounty on Galvatron. In light of this, it's more likely that Earth-120185 is actually Primax 986.13 Gamma instead.
