A newly forged Cybertronian, Rubble was assigned to Bumblebee's watch who imparted many lessons onto him about their race and culture. On Rubble's forty-first cycle of existence, Bumblebee took him beyond Iacon for the first time, The World In Your Eyes Part Two through the wilderness to an energon processing facility overseen by Brainstorm. The trip was heavily delayed by the wide-opticed Rubble taking in all the sights, everything from scaling gigantic corpses to meeting Voin scavengers, his meeting with the aliens coinciding with the arrival of Windblade whom Rubble was very eager to meet. As night fell, the trio arrived at the processing plant only to witness signs of a break-in. Though Rubble was ordered to stay put, he wandered off when he heard a sparking wire, which led him to Brainstorm's corpse. The World In Your Eyes Part One

Security Operations soon arrived to scope out the scene with Chromia asking Rubble to not consider the murder to be indicative of Cybertronian society, before Bumblebee took his protege to see Wheeljack at the Tether. When they arrived, the overenthusiastic engineer explained the glory of the "Winged Moon", a moon that had been rebuilt into a massive energon harvester, (and a skitter) before he offered Rubble a day job which the newborn eagerly accepted. When evening fell, Rubble went off to Bumblebee so they could watch the Winged Moon harvest its bounty. Before the harvest started, the two shared a conversation about factionalism and energon crystals before the moon sprung to life, which Rubble declared was the most amazing thing he'd ever seen.
