Maria is a member of Major Spike Witwicky's Skywatch unit. When Witwicky is out on missions, she reports to Pennington.

Maria reported to Pennington that civilians protesting against the Skywatch-Autobot alliance were on the news and gathering outside their base. Pennington dismissed the protests as he had more important things to worry about, but Maria insisted that he watch the news, as an interview with Ben Simpson was revealing important facts about the civilian anti-Transformer movement. The Demolished Man
