This article is about the helicopter used by G.I. Joe. For the Autobot from the 2010 Transformers toyline, see Tomahawk (TF 2010).
The Tomahawk is a vehicle used by G.I. Joe from the G.I. Joe portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
There, behind the speech bubbles...

A somewhat unusual hybridization of a CH-47 Chinook and a Sikorsky MH-53 "Jolly Green Giant", the Tomahawk serves as the Joe team's primary lift helicopter. Lift-Ticket is the primary pilot, but other Joes have been depicted in the cockpit over the years.

While meant to be a lift aircraft, the Tomahawk is surprisingly well-armed. According to the blueprints, it boasts a six-barreled 20mm gun in a chin turret mount, twin .50 machine guns mounted on the sides, six bombs, and two guided missiles... thus potentially making it better at air-to-air combat than your average Rattler.

During the battle with the airborne Decepticons, it made use of its nose-mounted guns as well as Joes firing guns from its storage area. ...All Fall Down!
