Ratchet is one of the oldest Autobots on Optimus Prime's team. Though sporting a bit of paunch, he's a true veteran and he's the only one of the group to have seen real fighting and war in the past. A leader figure for his comrades, he's got a bit of a millitary drill sergeant aura to him. He also likes bashing Bumblebee on the head when he's being a smart ass.
He's not Kup. Honestly.

Ratchet's got a growly voice. Also, he is stubbly and has beerbelly. He's getting old. According to the clip of Animated shown at NTFA, Ratchet participated in another war at least one hundred years ago, though it is unconfirmed if he is THE [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]. He also, at one point, was a bearer of the Allspark, or this series's Autobot Matrix of Leadership... which techincally would make him Ratchet Prime... which makes his entire character very confusing.
