Ratchet is one of the oldest Autobots on Optimus Prime's team. Though sporting a bit of paunch, he's a true veteran and he's the only one of the group to have seen real fighting and war in the past. A leader figure for his comrades, he's got a bit of a millitary drill sergeant aura to him. He also likes bashing Bumblebee on the head when he's being a smart ass.

He's not Kup. Honestly.

According to the historical files Prime watched in the beginning of the pilot episode, The Great War took place many millions of years ago. According Ratchet, he was in that war, witch makes him.. pretty old. Also, the fights made him bitter, mostly regarding of heroism. He enjoy grumbling and being sarcastic, just like any old man. His special power is based on magnetism.

• Deluxe Ratchet seems to come with a bunch of tool accessories he can hold in bot mode.
