Submission fields are pieces of technology from the cartoon portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Arrgh... forced... to... contribute... to... periodicals...

Submission fields are used by the Quintessons to subdue prisoners so that they can be approached without any danger to their captors. They consist of some sort of force field which immobilises the prisoner, pinning them to the floor, but doesn't otherwise harm them.

An Allicon used a submission field to immobilise Marissa Faireborn when its Quintesson master was going to conduct a test on her. The field pinned Marissa to the ground, allowing the Quintesson to move in. However, Wreck-Gar, also a prisoner, used a launching fist to strike the control panel, deactivating the field.
