Drift (Cyberverse)

Drift is a Decepticon and later an Autobot from the Cyberverse continuity family.

Drift was once a Decepticon named Deadlock, but it didn't take long after the launch of Megatron's revolution for him to realise that he didn't fit in with the Decepticons. He believed in a more honorable lifestyle than the sort his fellow 'Cons preferred, and so, given a chance, he jumped at the opportunity to make his own path. Now he has a new name and a new purpose in life as part of the Autobot cause.

Early in the Great War, Deadlock, wishing to defect from the Decepticons, was brought to Maccadam's by Bumblebee, who needed to find Optimus Prime to get his new friend to safety. Unfortunately, news of Deadlock's defection had reached Megatron who personally followed them to the bar and intended to use Deadlock as an example to others.   • Action Attack: Sneak Strike

Cyberverse Warrior Class Deadlock is a Deluxe-size mold that converts from robot into a sports car. His "Sneak Strike" Action Attack feature consists of effect-molded flip-out blades on his forearms, activated in robot mode. While he has the correct colors, the white and purple appear to be swapped if compared to the cartoon model. The flip-out blades mean that he lacks 5 mm fist holes.

The artwork on the front packaging depicts his blue-eyed Drift persona.

The Dark Side may have cookies, but the Light Side has elbow articulation.

  • Action Attack: Swing Slash

An all-new mold, this Drift features a different transformation and features additional elbow articulation than his Deadlock persona above. His "Swing Slash" Action Attack feature consists of his grappling/launching blade fired from his sword's hilt (permanently molded on his right hand), activated in robot mode. Due to the gimmick, he only features a functional 5mm compatible left hand.

Notes

• Deadlock's design is based on a fan Triple Changer design (itself based on Generation 1 Springer) by Guido Guidi—though there are some differences, like the placement of the Decepticon sigil and the cockpit of the alt-mode on his chest.
