One of the most hazardous regions of the galaxy, the Stellae Cimeterium, the graveyard of stars, is a boundless debris field with stellar debris large enough to rip a planet to shreds.

Though Cybertron originally orbited the star Alpha Centauri, the forces unleashed by the Great War ripped the planet from its orbit and sent it hurtling into deep space on a trajectory that would send it into the Stellae Cimeterium where it would doubtlessly be destroyed. As the Ark was being assembled, Optimus Prime noted that despite this existential threat, Megatron remained the greater menace to Cybertron's future. The High Council, ineffectual as ever, disagreed, finding the Cimeterium to be the first priority. This prompted Optimus to point out that, aside from the many losses they'd suffered to the Decepticons, all they needed to do to avoid the Cimeterium was trigger a series of controlled detonations to slow Cybertron enough that it could be picked up by Ursa Major's gravity field yet Traachon would not be deterred from his position.
