After Starscream had acquired both Vector Sigma and the AllSpark, he used the former to reprogram the latter, resulting in the birth of an army of Scraplets. Dark Birth Utterly insane at this point, he believed that the Scraplets held the sparks of the ancients and that they would reunite all living Cybertronians with the AllSpark, allowing "Zeta Prime" to hop up on his arm.
