The Recruits travel deep underwater to find an unmanned submersible. But a struggle to communicate effectively in the deep, dark waters nearly ruins the mission.
Synopsis
Watched by Chase, Hoist and Whirl direct a blindfolded Tough Luck Chuck through an obstacle course. Hot Shot is having less luck following Wedge and Medix's instructions and ends up back at the starting line with the opposing team triumphant. As Chase explains that the exercise was a lesson in trust, the rescue alarm sounds. The new mission is to find an unmanned drone at the bottom of the ocean and replace its battery with a new one supplied by Boulder. They're going to be working so deep that they will be unable to communicate with the surface so will have to rely on each other.
The recruits head out on a floating platform, which Hot Shot decides is too slow, so he uses his hovercraft form to speed up their outward journey. The five Bots jump in, but realize that the bottom of the trench they're heading for is going to be too dark to see anything. They activate their lights and head downwards, with Whirl admiring the luminescent jellyfish. After reaching the bottom, they spy more lights which turn out to be abyssopelagic fish. The recruits realize the fish are attracted to their lights and are forced to turn them off, leaving themselves in the dark.
Medix comes up with a plan, using his dorsal magnetic chassis to locate the sub. His instructions are again difficult to follow, and the team momentarily gets lost before meeting up again and spying the sub. Unfortunately the sub has come to rest in a cluster of volcanic vents, but with Hoist's tow line and some teamwork, they manage to pull it clear. Hoist replaces the battery and the sub lights up with power, the lights immediately attracting a very large and hungry-looking fish towards them. The recruits grab the sub and start running, but it becomes clear the fish isn't going to leave them alone. Whirl distracts the fish long enough for Hoist to deactivate the sub. Back in darkness, the team's only choice is to follow Medix's instructions as they carry the sub back to the platform. Medix keeps the instructions simple, and once they're back to safety, Hoist reactivates the sub. The recruits reflect on the fact their success hinged on the fact they could trust their teammate.

Quotes
"Well done, Team Rescue Prime, who displayed excellent teamwork skills in today's trust exercise. As for Team Unbeatable Hot Shots? I'm sorry to say your strategy today had some... flaws. What do you think went wrong?"
"Well first off I never agreed on that team name."
- —Chase and Wedge
"It will be just like the practice mission earlier. We just have to listen to one another down there, and we'll be fine!"
"Easy for you to say, your team won."
"Well, lucky for you, we're all one team now."
