Big Hauler is an Autobot Micromaster from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Oh, joy, another complainer.

The Autobot army has its share of negative nellies, and Big Hauler is the one (well, one of two) on the Monster Truck Patrol. He seemingly never has anything positive to say about any situation. However, this downer attitude only fuels his drive to overcome the sheer level of adversity he sees ahead of him. The light at the end of the tunnel may be there because the tunnel is on fire, but after that...?

In Japan, Big Hauler is the leader of the "Big Truck Team" instead of Hydraulic.

Fiction

Dreamwave Generation One continuity

Big Hauler was one of many Micromasters activated in the closing days of the war before the Great Shutdown. He chose to side with the Autobots, and partnered up with his fellow monster truck, Hydraulic. The two of them were trying to help Big Daddy's patrol get Roadbuster to safety on the battlefield when Crunch was killed by stray enemy fire. Destined for Nothing

Legends comic

In 2038, Big Hauler was on Planet Z when it was invaded by the forces of Violen Jiger and Dark Nova. Along with a number of fellow Micromasters, he swarmed the possessed body of Dai Atlas, distracting the Decepticon spirit inside until heavier weaponry could be brought to the battlefield. Toys

Generation 1

Actually smaller than Hauler.
  • Monster Truck Patrol (Micromaster Patrol, 1990)
Big Hauler transforms into a green semi cab of undetermined model with oversized "monster truck" tires. He was only available in a Micromaster four-pack with his teammates Heavy Tread, Hydraulic and Slow Poke.
Big Hauler is gang-molded with his teammate Slow Poke, sharing the same plastic colors.

Return of Convoy

  • Big Truck Team (Micro Trailer Team, 1991)
    • Japanese ID number: C-361
    • Accessories: Micro Trailer #1
The Monster Truck Patrol was released in Japan with no discernible differences during Return of Convoy. However, the team did come with Micro Trailer #1.

Notes

  • Big Hauler and Slow Poke's bios from the Dreamwave More than Meets the Eye encyclopedia are incredibly similar, only Slow Poke's is written from the viewpoint of Hydraulic. Error or intent?
