Hydraulic

As the leader of the Monster Truck Patrol, Hydraulic subscribes to the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy. His team has done quite well with the simple battle plan of smashing headfirst into the Decepticons, preferably into a painful area, so he sees no reason to change tactics. He's as subtle as a brick to the face in all of his dealings, be it simple conversation or in battle. He says what he thinks, even if it leads to hurt feelings. He figures better to tackle a problem head-on before it gets worse, be it personal conflicts between his allies or a rampaging Decepticon warrior coming over the ridge. What you see is what you get with Hydraulic, for good or bad.[1]

In Japan, Big Hauler leads the "Big Truck Team" rather than Hydraulic.

Fiction

Dreamwave Generation One continuity

Hydraulic was an Autobot allied Micromaster after the Meltdown Riots. He and Big Hauler helped the Hot Rod Patrol get Roadbuster to safety out in the badlands. After Crunch was killed on the field of battle, Hydraulic witnessed Big Daddy and the Hot Rods abandoning the Autobot cause. Destined for Nothing Some time later, Hydraulic had made his way to The Burn Outs in Little Iacon, where Ground Hog tried to sell him some "High-Grade Energon." Hydraulic told him he wasn't interested, as his last batch had made his engine knock for three cycles. The Gray Race Hydraulic was taken prisoner with the other Autobot Micros in Little Iacon when Venom's team attacked, but was later set free by the returning Hot Rod Patrol. Victims of the Revolution

Beast Wars: Uprising

Hydraulic was commander of the Micromaster 56th in Ky-Alexia during the Grand Uprising. Although the Builder Assembly forced him to evacuate Lower Ky-Alexia, he did maintain a sizeable force in the Upper province, pushing back against the Tol-Tech army of the Resistance. He broke Sky-Dive's lines, sending the Resistance into retreat. While picking off the scattered enemy forces, Hydraulic's spotters reported the massive Vehicon push towards Iacon. Hydraulic could only watch with relief as the horde passed him by. Derailment

Legends comic

In 2038, Hydraulic was on Planet Z when it was invaded by the forces of Violen Jiger and Dark Nova. Along with a number of fellow Micromasters, they swarmed the possessed body of Dai Atlas, distracting the Decepticon spirit inside until heavier weaponry could be brought to the battlefield.
