This article is about the Cyberverse Decepticon. For the Generation 1 Decepticon, see Acid Storm (G1).
Acid Storm is a Decepticon Seeker from the Cyberverse continuity family.
Their purple rain is not the kind you like to hear.

Acid Storm operates under Slipstream, being one of the Seeker captains. Using their ability to manipulate weather to create toxic rains, they spend their time chasing Autobots across the world with their Seeker compadres. While their weather changing power may be a stand out, they have also demonstrated the ability to skillfully use technology that they are provided. Although they are loyal to Megatron, once they were provided the opportunity to solely follow Starscream, they took it eagerly.

Acid Storm was one of the Seekers sent to Earth under Slipstream's command; they were joined by Thrust in an attempt to recover the scout ship that Windblade and Bumblebee had stolen. Windblade was able to take off before they could infiltrate the ship, and a dogfight ensued, with the two Seekers being joined by their commander Slipstream. Acid Storm's assistance in the fight was short-lived, however, as they and Thrust were taken out of the fight when Windblade discovered the ship's armament array, a brace of missiles sending the two subordinate Seekers spiraling down to Earth. Cyberverse

Lives up to the title of "the green one".
  • Acid Storm (Warrior Class, 2018)
    • Action Attack: "Toxic Slice"
Cyberverse Warrior Class Acid Storm is a redeco of Warrior Class Starscream and converts from robot to jet and back. Their Action Attack gimmick is activated by winding up a spring in their waist and releasing the upper part of the figure, allowing it to spin and flip out its spring-loaded wing blades with centrifugal force. The waist can be locked in place by pegging their landing gear onto a peg on their backside. Additionally, they have non-firing Null Ray blasters molded into their forearms with 5 mm post hole hands.
While their arms have articulation comparable to other Cyberverse Warrior Class toys, Acid Storm has the unusual distinction of having their hip swivels molded together, meaning the front-to-back movement is in tandem. They also lack knees, likely due to their whole legs being cast from the same green plastic. Despite this otherwise restricted movement, they can splay their legs out to the sides due to hinges on their hips, allowing splits and high kicks.
This mold was also redecoed into Thundercracker.

Now they're definitely living up to the name of “the green one”

  • Acid Storm (Tiny Turbo Changer, 2019)
    • Series: 2
    • Bag code: P
Part of the second series of Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers, Acid Storm is a redeco of Starscream, being a soft-plastic robot who turns into a neon-green fighter jet.

Notes

"The artist didn't catch my good side."
  • As with the rest of the Cyberverse Seekers, Acid Storm uses the evergreen design used for Generation 1 Starscream, but in the colors of their own G1 namesake. However, the character illustration (right) uses a considerably different color scheme than the final cartoon model attributed to them.

Acid Storm's Gender

  • In-keeping with depictions of the character in other continuities up to this point, Acid Storm's bio on Hasbro's U.S. website in English uses male pronouns. Conversely, in the animated series, the character has a feminine voice, provided by actress Jaime Lamchick. Though this suggests the cartoon character may be intended to be female, an apparent case of animation oversight has resulted in Acid Storm constantly fluctuating between the show's two distinct "male" and "female" Seeker designs from episode to episode during the first chapter only, even at times within the same episode. When questioned about this, Cyberverse writer Mae Catt offered an in-universe explanation for the inconsistency, stating that their changing appearance was "just something Acid Storm likes to do,"[1] implying the character is non-binary genderfluid. In response to further queries, Catt noted that "pronouns are up to Acid Storm."[2] Ultimately, in season 2, while they're mainly using the female design, there's still definitely shots where the male one is used; this is especially evident in the scene when Starscream first puts on the construction vehicle armor, Acid Storm's model changes from female to male in consecutive shots.
  • As far as other languages go, Acid Storm's toy packaging uses the masculine forms of "Seeker" in French, Portuguese, and Spanish.[3] Hasbro's Brazilian Portuguese site refers to Acid Storm's toy in the feminine,[4] while the French Canadian site uses the masculine.[5]
