Hot Rod and Clobber accidentally free the wrong bot from Quintesson control.

Synopsis

It is parade time, and Lockdown tries to hurry to see the head float. He bumps into Skywarp and Alphastrike, and Dead End get's his foot stepped on, stating he hates parades. Lockdown then quickly notices Clobber, who starts to give him a merciless beatdown, much to Dead End's amusement. It quickly turns out that Clobber was attempting a rescue mission, but Lockdown fully refuses to miss the parade, and just in time for the cube to crush Sky-Byte. She subsequently fails to free Lockdown, and Perceptor then finds a way to double their efforts; he found a second cortical psychic patch at Shockwave's old lab.

Back in the loop, Dead End does what Clobber said, and sees what actually happened in the real world, and finding a cable near his feet, he quickly gasps in horror to find all of Cybertron's citizen's with cords siphoning energon directly from their faces. Wandering around trying to pry off their helmets, he quickly found that the invaders had caught Shadow Striker, Soundwave, and even Megatron. The freed con then finds the root of the Quintesson ship, but accidentally awakens the Quintessons, who then start to pursue their freed food source.

Racing throughout all of Cybertron, Dead End evades the creatures in an alley, and wanders into Shockwave's old lab to find Clobber and Hot Rod scanning the area. Surveying the 2 search for a cortical psychic patch, Clobber nearly notices Dead End and they find a tool that Shockwave had used to experiment on Clobber with. Hot Rod eventually secures the patch, and they with an annoyed Dead End following close behind. He eventually engages Hot Rod, unaware of the alliance and ignoring the explanation attempts. The fight eventually blows up an energon tank and alerts the Quintessons to their position. They then take shelter in a warehouse, though Clobber had to drag a petrified Dead End. Hot Rod then explains everything:

After sinking into the toxic waste, Hot Rod emerged unharmed, but the wasted stained him black. By the time he got to the surface, the Quintessons had taken over Cybertron. Following them he found Perceptor, who explained everything to him. He then finished with a determination speech, though Dead End refused to assist. The Quintessons soon cut the doors open, and it turns out that the group had led the creatures to their base. They escape thanks to Clobber, but are forced to escape into Maccadam's, where they find the bartender ready with a story.
