Iaconus is a Titan from the Cyberverse continuity family

One of the Titans, Iaconus (nicknamed "The Star Savior" and "The Moon Puncher") is a literal giant of legend. Unfortunately, Iaconus is also a War Titan. Conflict is a need for him, and it doesn't matter who it's with. Innocents and even his allies will find themselves becoming targets once this Titan has run out of enemies. Combine that with his massive arsenal of weapons, including a sword almost as big as he is, a shield that also serves as a blaster, and many, many, many missile arrays, Iaconus is a berserker who should best be left to slumber... unless all else fails.

I am Iaconus. I. AM. WAR.

During the Age of Expansion, Iaconus, like many other Titans, left Cybertron. Counting Maccadam among his crew, Iaconus waged wars on several alien worlds before the Age of Expansion came to an end. The only War Titan to survive the violent epoch, Iaconus found himself unable to adjust to the peace and waged a war on his own kind upon his return to Cybertron. Iaconus' own crew managed to defeat him, though with tremendous casualties. Maccadam, the only survivor, buried Iaconus under what would one day become Iacon, using the Titan's cloaking device to keep him hidden away. Maccadam would pass the topmost level of Iaconus's inert form as Maccadam's Old Oil House, using the Titan's internal facilities as a means of generating endless fuel for customers. The Citizen As an extra precaution, in case a Cityspeaker ever tried to wake him, Maccadam left a special trap within the Titan's mind. The End Of The Universe III The memory of Iaconus survived, with some postulating that Iacon had been named after him while others doubted that he'd ever existed. The Citizen

Some cycles before the Autobots and Decepticons returned to Cybertron, Skullcruncher found his way into the depths of Iaconus. Maccadam let him stay, to "keep out the riff-raff". The Citizen

After the Quintessons invaded Cybertron, Iaconus' cloaking device prevented the invaders' scanners from locating him, The Alliance Maccadam inviting the Autobots and Decepticons that remained safe haven within. Confused by this, Perceptor used his scanners to eventually locate Iaconus' mass beneath the city. The Sleeper

Intending to salvage and replicate Iaconus' cloaking module, the Autobots and Decepticons made their way deep into the Titan's bowels where they found Maccadam waiting for them. Though Maccadam confirmed that Iaconus would eagerly take the fight to the Quintessons, he feared the damage that the giant's bloodlust would bring to Cybertron. Despite this, Hot Rod made plans to awaken Iaconus. The Citizen

Hot Rod and Soundwave would later bring in Windblade so that she could attempt to wake him up. She failed, as Iaconus was a War Titan. The cityspeaker then made another attempt when a group of Elite Sharkticons derailed the warhead plan. She more-or-less succeeded, managing to unearth the Titan's arm before Maccadam extracted her before it got too painful. Despite this, the quakes the awakening caused cowed the Sharkticons back to the ship. The Alliance

After a Starscream-faced Quintesson judge recaptured the resistance, Windblade again tried to reawaken Iaconus before the judge could kill anyone. This time, she succeeded, and the entire populace of Cybertron watched in awe at his imposing stature. The End Of The Universe II The War Titan, however, only started chasing Starscream once Windblade showed him a visual. However, he was intercepted by a brainwashed Croaton, who proceeded to halt him, deflecting a shot from the war titan that ended up killing Maccadam. Now aware his last citizen is no more, Iaconus paused, giving Croaton a short-lived edge. Despite this it didn't stop the judge, who decapatated him with weaponized unspace goo just before he could kill Croaton. His now disembodied head floating between universes, the last war titan finally perished, his beheaded corpse returning to it's roofless city mode as his spark faded. The End Of The Universe III

Notes

  • Iaconus needing war to survive is quite similar to the Greek god Ares as well as Armada Unicron.
