Alan Dean Foster is an American science fiction and fantasy writer.

A prolific author (and in some cases, ghostwriter) of movie novelizations, Foster wrote both the novelization of the 2007 Transformers movie and the prequel novel Transformers: Ghosts of Yesterday.
