- Squawktalk is a Decepticon Mini-Cassette from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Squawktalk can request a cracker in over 6500 languages. He loves to hear bizarre languages and dialects, as he finds it soothing and relaxing. To this end, he talks constantly, even when he has nothing to say. This has not particularly endeared him to his comrades, who eagerly await for Squawktalk to have to translate something—even if it won't shut him up, at least he'll be talking about something important.
Squawktalk can combine with Beastbox to form Squawkbox.
Fiction
Madman The Transformers comic
In the year 2001, Squawktalk accompanied Soundwave and several other Decepticon mini-Cassettes to spy on the construction site of Autobot City on Earth. The team recorded a secret meeting between Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus where the two Autobot leaders discussed hiding the Autobot Matrix of Leadership in a bunker on the building site. Once the majority of the Autobots had left for Cybertron, Soundwave deployed Squawktalk, Beastbox, Ratbat, Slugfest, and Overkill to begin excavation. Squawktalk combined with Beastbox into Squawkbox and successfully dug up the Matrix, but was then run over by the Autobot Hot Rod. The Transformers

Squawktalk was present on Cybertron when the Dark Matrix creature attacked the population and was converted into a shadow-leech alongside Soundwave, Howlback, Slugfest, Overkill, Beastbox, and Wingthing. 2005 IDW continuity
Squawktalk participated in the Galvatron-led invasion of Earth by the revived Decepticon movement. During the struggle in Shanghai between the Cons, Autobots, and the People's Liberation Army Mecha Force, however, the mindbomb weapon detonated and incapacitated most of the Decepticons, including Squawktalk. Squawktalk is an "Accessory" character, giving Deceptihogs he's attached to "acid rounds": anything their weapon hits but does not immediately destroy has its HP quickly sapped by burning acid. This bonus can be increased in strength with upgrades won from random-prize Crates or in the "Shockwave's Tower" mini-game.
He can be unlocked by purchasing him with Gems in the Barracks, with Tokens during specific Challenge Events, or won from Crates and Shockwave's Tower. Angry Birds Transformers

Toys
Generation 1
- Squawktalk / Beastbox (Mini-Cassette 2-pack, 1988)
- Accessories: Left & right "High Decibel Sonic Boomers"
- Squawktalk transforms from an aqua-blue microcassette into a bird (unspecified in the Hasbro line, though Takara would decree him an eagle). He has two chrome "Sonic Boomer" cannons which can be attached to his bird mode. His tape mode is designed to fit into the chest compartment of Soundwave (or Blaster, or other incarnations of those molds).
- He was only available in a two-pack with Beastbox; the two can also combine to form the humanoid robot Squawkbox. This duo was the final set of Decepticon cassettes sold in the original toyline, released years after Soundwave had been cycled out of production.
- While this set was available in the Hasbro line at standard retail, Takara released it only as a mail-order toy, during the Super-God Masterforce series. The pair cost 980 yen and 2 Robot Points.
