During the Age of Expansion, Thunderhowl served under a Prime who dispatched him to destroy Crystal City. Though Thunderhowl breached the city's defences, he wound up trapped by the crystals, held in a state of suspended animation.
Salvation for the knight came sometime after 2007, when he was freed by the Autobots Bumblebee and Chromia, saving them from their own crystalline duplicates. After introducing himself to the Autobots, Thunderhowl agreed to aid them on their quest to save Windblade. Once they had entered the throne room, the Crystalline King generated an squadron of crystal Windblades to hold off the trio but Bumblebee's multiverse energy managed to shatter the entity. His quest complete, Thunderhowl returned to Iacon with the Autobots whereupon he pledged his loyalty to Optimus Prime. Thunderhowl
After Optimus Prime had received instructions from the Thirteen to destroy an alternate version of the Matrix of Leadership that Megatron had brought into their reality, Thunderhowl joined the infiltration team into Croaton. As they tracked the alternate Matrix, Thunderhowl snuck past Decepticon guards using his nimble beast mode and incapacitated two guards with his electric breath. As the Autobots clashed with Decepticons, Thunderhowl pounced on Shadow Striker. After the Autobots had made it to the control room, they and the Decepticons were suddenly surrounded by towering hostiles. Silent Strike
The hostiles were quickly identified as Perfect Decepticons created by an alternate version of Megatron who had won the Great War and the owner of the alternate Matrix. While Thunderhowl and Sky-Byte boldly led the charge into battle against the soldiers, they proved too powerful to be felled as one Perfect Decepticon managed to blast Thunderhowl off of him. Along with the other Autobots, Thunderhowl battled several Perfect Decepticons and received a power boost of multiverse energy from Optimus Prime. Thunderhowl caught up with Optimus and Bumblebee just as Astrotrain took Megatron X, defeated and immobilized by Optimus, away. Thunderhowl was later present when a restored Windblade made her return. The Other One

- Thunderhowl (Deluxe Class, 2020)
- Accessories: Sword, Shield, Effect part
- Cyberverse Thunderhowl is a new Deluxe mold, transforming from knight-themed robot to mechanical wolf. He comes with his sword and shield, and an action attack effect part for his wolf mode. Thunderhowl's design draws inspiration from his concept art, though slightly tweaked (most notably adding more gold), and his face features the battle mask design. Because of this, Thunderhowl is the least accurate of the Deluxe Cyberverse figures. He comes with the head piece of the build-a-bot Maccadam.
