The Headmasters of Evil plot to destroy the Battleship Maximus.
Synopsis
From the planet Chaar, Galvatron leads the Headmasters of Evil toward planet Athenia, commanding them to reveal their "true strength" to the Autobots.
On Athenia, a massive bronze statue memorializing the late Supreme Commander Optimus Prime has just been unveiled. Chromedome, speaking for all the Headmasters of Justice, says that Optimus Prime was the greatest warrior who ever lived. Rodimus Prime thanks the Headmasters for their support. Suddenly, they receive an alert that the Decepticons are on their way. Rodimus Prime sends the Autobot Headmasters to head the enemy off.
As the Battleship Maximus takes off, Daniel remarks to "Mr. Fortress" that the Decepticons are a lot like parasites. Fortress readily agrees. Their thrilling dialogue is interrupted when Spike detects the approaching Decepticons. He mobilizes the Headmasters, who expect their battle to be an easy victory.
Outside, the Headmasters of Evil reveal their cunning plan. When the hatch to the Battleship Maximus opens, Mindwipe will chuck in a huge bomb which will then promptly explode and destroy the ship. Genius. The hatch proceeds to open, but before Mindwipe can set the bomb, Chromedome's Headmaster unit leaps out, snatches it away and then returns to his transtector. Problem solved.
As Galvatron berates the Headmasters of Evil for screwing up such a carefully laid out strategy, Daniel remarks that the Autobot Headmasters are cooler than the other side of the pillow.

Notes
- This issue takes place shortly after the episode "Birth of the Fantastic Double Prime", in which Optimus Prime was killed (again). Optimus Prime's death is not shown in The Headmasters comic series.
- So, the "true strength" of the Decepticon Headmasters was, quite possibly, the most uninspired evil scheme ever conceived? Yikes, that's lame.
- You'd think more than five Autobots would be attending the unveiling of a statue memorializing the greatest leader in their faction's history. The statue will be seen again in "The Battle Begins! The United Earth-Space Troops".
