The name or term "Chuck" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Chuck (disambiguation).
Chuck is an Autobird from the Angry Birds Transformers continuity family.
Come on, let's dance!

Chuck is the kind of bird who jumps into the fray first, and worries about the consequences later. Gung-ho, impatient, and overconfident, Chuck has often been the cause of Red's plans falling apart, despite his heart being in the right place. Unfortunately, Chuck's need to make up for his past screw-ups sends him hurling headlong into trouble, repeating the cycle all over again. To compensate, Chuck displays uncanny speed and sheer destructive potential, making him an asset to the Flock despite his personality flaws.

When upgraded by the EggSpark, Chuck assumes the identity of Bumblebee Bird, Rodimus Bird, Cliffjumper Bird, and Cosmos Bird In this new form, he displays a much more level-headed and responsible attitude... which honestly weirds out his teammates, who are unused to seeing him acting this way, especially Red....... His old mannerisms nonetheless still shine through when the situation becomes heated, proving that he's the same old Chuck despite his personality overhaul.

Fiction

Angry Birds comic

After the Bad Piggies had stolen a batch of the Flock's eggs, Chuck accompanied his fellow birds on a raid to retrieve them. He managed to foul up Red's attack plan by rushing the attack, and accidentally caused the Bad Piggies' building to collapse. The Flock got buried in rubble while King Pig and his minions escaped. After Bomb managed to get them out of the debris, Chuck sheepishly apologized to the others for his screw up. While Red reprimanded Chuck for his foolishness, the Blues flew off after the pigs on their own. The Flock began searching for the three little birds, though both Terence and Chuck saw the task as a waste of time. The Blues managed the find their way back on their own, and began blabbing about an "EggSpark" and "Deceptihogs." Seeing an opportunity to redeem himself for his earlier screw-up, Chuck once more rushed ahead of the group.

Coming upon the EggSpark and the upgraded Bad Piggies, Chuck found his flight-path obstructed by Hal. Unable to slow down in time, Chuck bumped into the other bird, and sent the both of them hurling towards the EggSpark. Contact with the artifact transformed Chuck into Bumblebee Bird, while Hal became Grimlock Bird. Bumblebee Bird's new form gave him a new outlook on things, and despite being surrounded by Deceptihogs, attempted to talk his way out of the situation. Megatron Pig wouldn't hear it, and began blasting away at the two Autobirds. Grimlock Bird managed to chase off the Deceptihogs, though they still had the Flock's eggs in their possession. Angry Birds Transformers #1

The rest of the Flock then caught up to Bumblebee Bird. Red quickly became frustrated with Bumblebee Bird's strange new demeanor, and demanded why his friend was acting so strangely. Bumblebee Bird admitted that he only vaguely remembered his existence before becoming an Autobird, but still argued that the best course of action would be for the other birds to acquire robot bodies as well. He pointed out that the Deceptihogs were now in possession of powerful weapons and armor. The only way to combat them would be for the Flock to undergo the transformation themselves. To drive the point home, Bumblebee Bird showed off his ability to become a really cool car. Ultimately, the rest of the Flock agreed to touch the EggSpark. Under Optimus Prime Bird's command, the lot of them transformed and rolled out into action.

When the Autobirds caught up to the Deceptihogs, Bumblebee Bird's former brash persona once more came to the forefront. He was unable to stop himself from charging the pigs by himself. This once more proved to be foolish, as he was beaten down by Lockdown Pig, and trampled by Megatron Pig. The clobbering he received damaged Bumblebee Bird's vocal processor, forcing him to communicate in beeps and squeaks from that point on. The rest of the Autobirds then joined in the fight, finding themselves evenly-matched against their opponents. The squabble was interrupted when the Flock's eggs, which had previously been exposed to the EggSpark, sprouted mechanical limbs, multiplied, and proved themselves to be excessively hostile. Age of Eggstinction!

The two factions joined forces against the newly arisen threat. Their truce was a shaky one, however, with Optimus Prime Bird and Megatron Pig soon arguing with one another on the battlefield. Bumblebee Bird agreed with Grimlock Bird that the argument was an entertaining one. Cooler heads eventually prevailed, and the birds/pigs alliance redoubled their efforts to drive the Eggbots back. Unfortunately, with the EggSpark still in contact with Piggy Island, the land itself was becoming increasingly unstable and dangerous. Revenge of the Fowlin'!

Bumblebee Bird and Heatwave Bird were the ones that came up with the solution to end the madness: simply separate the EggSpark from Piggy Island, halting the artifact's influence. Bumblebee Bird's part in the task ahead was to run interference against the Eggbots while the others made their way to the EggSpark. But the plan went awry when both Galvatron Pig and Strscream Pig betrayed the group. The EggSpark was now in Starscream Pig's possession, who planed to use its power for his own selfish goals. Bumblebee Bird stepped in at that point, and using a giant slingshot, hurled both Starscream Pig and the EggSpark off-planet. Piggy Island and all of its inhabitants then returned to normalcy. As the Flock reflected on the day's events, Chuck claimed he had gained the coolest form, and that he had saved the day all by himself. The Blues disagreed. Hard Boiled

Bumblebee Bird helped Optimus Prime Bird track down the Deceptihogs wherever they hid! Though he was once very competitive, after his transformation into an Autobird, Bumblebee Bird only wants to be liked. Nobody knows why he only speaks in radio instead of squawking. Robot Birds in Disguise

Soundwave Pig planned to smash Bumblebee Bird's car mode to pieces with a sonic weapon. Bumblebee Bird managed to avoid the attack by speeding away. Bumblebee Bird later participated in a great big clash against the Deceptihogs in the middle of a desert. He faced off against Lockdown Pig. Commercial appearances

Chuck got turned into Bumblebee Bird by the power of the EggSpark. He readied himself to face off against the Deceptihogs, only to find himself surrounded by turrets, recently Cyberformed by the Eggbots. The Autobirds and Deceptihogs joined forces, and began blowing up the turrets before chasing away the Eggbots and driving off into the distance. Angry Birds Transformers: Cinematic Trailer

Bumblebee Bird faced off against a swarm of Flying Pigbots, barely dodging their rapid fire. As he looked around for an escape route he spotted... Heatwave Bird, relaxing in a hammock and nursing a pineapple drink. Bumblebee Bird asked for his help, but Heatwave Bird was uninterested... until a stray shot destroyed the little umbrella in his drink. Bumblebee Bird held his friend's drink as Heatwave Bird took out the pigs with a single blast of his cannon. Best Buddies

As Bumblebee

  • Squad: Rescue Bots
  • Mission Type: Investigator
  • Unlock Type: New Area (70 pigs)

Bumblebee Bird is the first character to be freed from his glass prison. In contrast to the balanced Optimus Prime Bird, Bumblebee Bird's more about speed than defense, and is easily one of the fastest characters in the game; in vehicle mode he can actually outrace missiles, getting out of their range. Like Chuck in the classic Angry Birds game, his missiles can destroy wood blocks with ease, but weak against glass. However, upgrading his weapon will rectify that weakness. Also unlike Optimus, he can only shoot six missiles at a time before having to reload, though this is as quick as the time between shots.

Level 7
  • Squad: Variant Versions
  • Mission Type: Investigator
  • Unlock Type: New Area (2000 2800 pigs)

The Eggspark created another Bumblebee Bird in inverted stealth colors, which caused some tensions between him and the original. He has higher overall stats, especially in the speed department, and shoots his missiles very rapidly, but with longer reload. As a Variant Version character, he gets double coins from completed events, but gets nothing if he fails.

As Rodimus

  • Squad: The Hotrods, The Wreckers
  • Mission Type: Investigator
  • Unlock Type: In-app purchase, Challenge Event Prize

Who would have thought that a Bumblebee would be redecoed as a Rodimus? As both Rodimus and Chuck are headstrong and impatient, they go quite well together! It took the Autobots a quite a while to find him because he's always moving.

Appropriately enough, his weapon shoots fireballs that burn targets over time, much more quickly than incendiary rounds. The flames spread quickly to wood and glass and breaks them, but does poorly against stone.

He was first available during the Black Friday sale in 2015, in the Fire Bundle which also contained 250,000 coins and 100 gems, at the low price of $3.99. (Among the other offers at that time were accessory bundles and discounted gems.) And for those who didn't want to buy a new character, almost a year later he and his accessories were available as a the main prize during the "You've Got the Touch" challenge event, also celebrating the 30th anniversary of The Transformers: The Movie. Codes to unlock Rodimus were also distributed by developer Exient at the TF Nation 2016 fan convention.

The energon version of Bumblebee fires three simultaneous bullets at varying angles. And of course, following the trend, he can collect energon cubes to heal himself, but is more susceptible to damage as a result. Yeah, not much to say.

  • Unlock Type: Challenge Event Prize (cost: 7500 Tokens)

A new (or old…?) version of Bumblebee with a Volkswagen Beetle vehicle mode, "in honor of his new movie." He fires one taser bullet at a time that looks similar to Barricade’s weapon, but this one makes blocks and pigs fly up and then fall back to demolish on the ground.

  • Squad: Specialists
  • Mission Type: ???
  • Unlock Type: Challenge Event prize (cost: 10000 Tokens)

Cliffjumper is one powerful warrior. His intimidating red paint and long sharp bull horns are very well known to scare off Deceptihogs easily, as well as his catchphrase: “Let me at ‘em!” And he is a Volkswagen Beetle in vehicle mode. Yeah. Anyways, Cliffjumper fires a salvo of missiles that fly to the target in a very wobbly way. And boy, are they destructive!

He was available in the event of the same name in October 2019, for the prize of 10000 Tokens.

As Cosmos

Cosmos Bird is not amused with your coronavirus jokes
  • Squad: Reinforcements
  • Mission Type: Investigator
  • Unlock Type: Challenge Event prize (cost: 10000 Tokens)

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s an alien angry bird-transformer hybrid with guns! Cosmos is Chuck’s newest incarnation in the game, and a real extraterrestrial one! Cosmos can reach velocities high enough to get him to space, where he often just looks around for any Eggbot activities, and most of the map nodes are actually there because that guy detected them! Way to go, Star-Lord!

His weapon is a single green or purple taser bullet that, similar to Classic Bumblebee’s weapon, rockets pigs and blocks up in the air. The only thing that really makes Cosmos’ weapon different from Classic Bumblebee’s, is that it doesn’t overheat. And if that weren’t enough already, this Autobird has a vehicle-mode-special-ability-thingy or whatever that’s called. Upon seeing Cosmos’ flying saucer form, the piggies will be baffled by this bizarre appearance and they’ll completely lose their aim for as long as that thing is flying around.

Cosmos was one of the 3 new characters added in the 2.0 update, along with General Optimus Prime and Lord Megatron.

Notes

  • Chuck is one of the 'protagonists' of the Angry Birds franchise.
  • Anri Katsu provides the voice of Chuck the Japanese dub of The Angry Birds Movie and its sequel.
  • Chuck's design for Bumblebee is loosly based on Bumblebee's design from the movies, primarily from the first movie. His High-Octane Bumblebee, on the other hand, is based on the undercover deco in Age of Extinction and pretty much every Black Repaint of Bumblebee ever. His Classic Bumblebee takes inspiration from the original G1 namesake like the VW Beetle vehicle mode and the small horns; but he's been released on December 2018 so....
  • Chuck-as-Cliffjumper continues the popular trend of a red repaint of Bumblebee, the Classic Bumblebee to be precise.
  • Chuck-as-Cosmos gives him a similarity to the traditional Cosmos look, but he uses the same mannerisms as Silver (which surprisingly is Chuck's sister in the second movie. Go figure!)
