Datamine is a Decepticon from the Wings Universe portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Datamine is a Decepticon soldier. He is black and orange in coloration. He is also rather greedy.

Datamine was once a low-level criminal from the Badlands. Once he joined the Decepticon movement, he saw an opportunity to elevate himself beyond identity theft and system hacking that had kept a trickle of credits coming his way up until then. Though Falcon had advised him to join up under Deathsaurus, he ultimately went to serve under Megatron.

Datamine bickered with Abacus and Deadbolt about the mission they had received from Megatron, accurately describing it as "'His' only expectation is that we die!". He was then presumably destroyed when Halonix Maximus rained death from above. A Team Effort

Beast Wars: Uprising

Datamine worked for Dynamic Energon Distilleries, and was appointed administrator of the Iacon planet when Ego replaced Double Punch as Chairman. Double Punch had relied upon Gnashteeth, one of the proto-former Predacon race, as his administrator, which the Builders could not abide. Datamine demoted Gnashteeth to serve as co-deputy administrator with his own former deputy, Budora. This humiliation was compounded as Datamine wanted his co-deputies to compete for his appreciation while on the job.

When Gnashteeth blew up the plant and secretly stole all the energon in production, Datamine was at least initially blamed for the poor conditions that supposedly caused the "accident". Identity Politics
