Ian Flynn (born May 31, 1982) is an American freelance comic book writer. He is best known for his work on the Sonic the Hedgehog series, and currently stands as the franchise's most prolific writer. Flynn originally wrote Sonic fan comics before becoming the lead writer on Archie Comics' Sonic the Hedgehog series in 2006 after submitting unsolicited proposals. He remained head writer until the comics' cancellation in 2017, along with writing for the series' multiple spinoff books, and has been the primary writer for IDW Publishing's Sonic series since its inception, later joined by Evan Stanley. He also wrote two episodes of the Sonic Boom animated series and tie-in comics released alongside games such as Sonic Forces.

Outside of Sonic, Flynn was the head writer on Archie's Mega Man, New Crusaders, and Cosmo the Merry Martian books, and has contributed to series such as Archie, ARMS, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and My Little Pony: Feats of Friendship, on top of co-hosting the BumbleKast podcast and writing his own original comic, Drogune.
