Andrew "Andy" Lanning (date of birth: unknown) is a British inker and comic writer best known for his work with Dan Abnett (labelled "DnA"), which includes the 2000s Guardians of the Galaxy & Nova (Marvel) and the "reboot" Legion of Super-Heroes (DC). They first met while staff workers at Marvel UK[1], though their partnership ended in 2014. Other notable teamups include co-creating The Sleeze Brothers with Joe Carnell for Marvel UK; and co-writing the Marvel UK revival Revolutionary War with Alan Cowsill among others (including an issue of Death's Head with Nick Roche).

Lanning and Abnett were recruited by IDW for a crossover in 2011 after their success with Marvel's repeated cosmic crossovers around that time. [2] Off the back of that, they were intended to become regular writers alongside Mike Costa but, due to their other commitments, this fell through.[3] The result was six issues spread across two spinoffs that started the plot that Costa and James Roberts ended in "Chaos".
