Zoids (ゾイド Zoido) is a Tomy toyline featuring giant beastial robots.

Fiction

In 2016 when Grimlock rampaged through Amarillo, local human Brandon was quick enough to film it on his smartphone and upload it to the Internet under the title "OMG> ZOIDS R BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!". Nothing Will Ever Be the Same Again!

Zoids began in 1982 and has continued after Tomy's 2006 merger with Takara. At the time of the above IDW comic issue, Zoids was indeed in a dormant period, with Zoids: Wild not premiering until 2018.
The Animated Decepticon Megadeath is described as transforming into a "Guylos EX-038 Assault Craft" from the first Zoids anime. Multiversal observer Vector Prime would later describe this phenomenon as body-form overlap between the Cymond Cluster and the Malgus Cluster.
