Sega
Sega is a multinational Video Game and Software designer whose main office is in Ota, Tokyo, Japan.
In 1957, Service Games and Rosen Enterprises merged and became SEGA. (Service Games). In 1966 they acquired the submarine simulator Periscope, which became wildly popular in Japan. In 1969, David Rosen sold Sega to Gulf & Western Industries, but himself remained on as CEO of the Sega division. They prospered and in 1979 they took the company public (Gulf & Western eventually evolved into Paramount Communications, which merged with Viacom in 1994). The company began producing video game consoles in 1984, beginning with the SG-1000, and went on to produce several systems such as the Mega Drive/Genesis, Saturn, and Dreamcast. In 1991, they created Sonic the Hedgehog, who became their mascot and took the world by storm. The company ceased console production in 2001, becoming a third-party game developer. They merged with fellow game publisher Sammy in 2004 to form their current parent company Sega Sammy Holdings. In 2005, they purchased a controlling share in anime production facility TMS Entertainment, and in 2013 acquired video game studio Atlus. In 2017, they announced a partnership with IDW Publishing to produce a new Sonic the Hedgehog comic series.
In regards to this wiki, they have made a few Transformers arcade games including Transformers Animated: The Chase and Transformers Animated: The Shooting, which interacted with Transformers Cards, and Transformers: Human Alliance and Transformers: Shadows Rising, which don't. In 2014 they cooperated with TakaraTomy to produce Mega Drive Megatron, a toy that transforms into a scaled down Mega Drive/Genesis console.
