Fiction

Animated continuity

Bumblebee's stingers are among the few energy weapons that Optimus Prime's crew have at their disposal. They can easily go through rock, space barnacles, and any old Earth material.

Decepticon armor-plating? Not so much.

Wasp, who shares a bodyform with Bumblebee, appears to have much better control of his stingers. In fact, his skill with them earned him his name... and Bumblebee's lack of skill earned him his. Autoboot Camp

Ratchet eventually upgraded Bumblebee's stingers to battle grade, increasing their effectiveness. TransWarped

Bumblebee film

Stinger Sword

The Stinger Sword was a small sword that came out of Bumblebee's wrist. He tried to impale Blitzwing with it, but the Seeker jet dodged it at the last second. Later in the fight, Bumblebee used it to damage Blitzwing's jet engines mid-flight.

When he was impaled and tangled by the Sector Seven harpoon guns, Bumblebee used the sword to cut the ropes of the harpoons to free himself.

During their fight, Shatter broke the sword off of Bumblebee's wrist. She tried but failed to impale him with it.

Stinger Blaster

Bumblebee's left arm could transform into the Stinger Blaster. Bumblebee

Cyberverse cartoon

Bumblebee can transform one of his hands into a stinger, delivering a massive jolt of electricity into any enemy he strikes with it. This seems to leave them in a stasis-lock-like state for a brief period. The weapon can also function as a blade, and the jolt is surprisingly accurate to the point that when it hits two bots in close contact, only the intended target gets shocked. Bee can also extend 2 stinger blades from the rims of his tires in vehicle mode. Despite the weapon's effectiveness, a few bots can resist the electric shock, and not even Bee himself is safe from the weapon's power.

Notes

Unused movie stinger model.
  • Bumblebee's stingers were first developed as a concept for the first live-action movie, but went unused.
  • Considering Wasp and Bumblebee seem to share the stingers because they share a body-type, this would imply all other 65356-9292-346 wearers to have stingers as well.
  • Bumblebee's wrist sword in the Bumblebee movie was named the Stinger Sword and his gun arm, the Stinger Blaster in some toy and merchandise information. [2] [3] [4] They did not appear to be electrical weapons unlike other incarnations.

Foreign names

  • Japanese: Stinger Sword (Cyberverse, スティンガーソード Sutingā Sōdo)
