Retro has seen far too many cities and strongholds fall to the Decepticons, and will hold the line even unto death. His combiner partner Surge does his best to make sure he'll never experience such tragedy again.<ref>More Than Meets The Eye #5</ref>

Retro transforms into the front half of a red crane truck. He was sold with Surge and a missile transport, that transforms into a battle base.
