Transformers: Cyberverse is a franchise that launched in 2018. It collects large amounts of lore from multiple continuities, not unlike the Aligned continuity family, and blends them into a new story inspired by classic Generation 1 lore, utilizing evergreen character designs.

Overview

Cyberverse as a franchise is built around a retelling of the battle between the Autobots and Decepticons based around a premise very similar to what was attempted in the Aligned continuity family: The war on Cybertron breaks out over Megatron's attempts to change Cybertron that leads to his conflict with his old friend Optimus Prime that culminates in the ejection of the AllSpark and the battle moving to claim its power on Earth. The franchise is aimed at an age range older than preschool, but younger than teens and older fans, sandwiched right between the concurrently running preschool-age Rescue Bots Academy and the older, more fan-oriented War for Cybertron Trilogy, with shorter episodes than previous 'mainline' shows and toys geared towards simpler, very kid-friendly gimmicks.

Notably, Cyberverse is the first television series to explicity make use of the multiverse as a concept, with acknowledgement of multiple universes in both of its primary fictions, and it playing a major role in the show's third season.
