Dead End (BW)
| The name or term "Dead End" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Dead End (disambiguation). |
- Dead End is a Predacon from the Beast Era of the Generation 1 continuity family.

In many ways, Dead End (デッドエンド Deddo Endo) is the ideal Predacon soldier. Content in his rank amongst the troops on the frontline, he never makes any trouble for his superior officers nor partakes in any schemes for advancement. Casual observers might interpret this as a lack of ambition, but those who have met Dead End know his true passions are far more sinister. He just likes to kill.
Having graduated with honors from the Predacon war academy and having studied at length the military history of his and other races, Dead End's knowledge of the art of killing is nearly unsurpassed. He relishes storming the battlefield and taking life after life with his own claws or armaments. Dead End doesn't socialize well with his Predacon comrades, taking embarrassment in their many power plays and petty coups. To Dead End, being a soldier isn't about promotions or celebrity; being a soldier is about slaughtering the enemy and loving every minute of it.

Once, Dead End was as sullen and fatalistic as his namesake. It was only when Magmatron recruited him into the Predacons that he found his true calling as a soldier. Beast Wars: Uprising

The female Dead-End was a junior engineer working under Chief Magmatron on board the Dinosaur. Prickly and anti-social, Dead-End intentionally had few friends among the crew, despite attempts by Hydra and others to include her. Still, she was very attached to her pet Sharkticon, Gnaw, who she secretly picked up during shore leave on Arkus and kept in the ship's cooling systems.
During a mission over the planet LGC-8803, the Dinosaur came under attack from outside parties while an away team was on the planet below. Dead-End worked to assist Magmatron in repairing the massive damage the ship took. After returning from repair work in the pipes, however, she learned from Magmatron that the crew faced a different threat. The proto-formers had begun an insurrection against the Builders back home, and their Micromaster political officer Synapse had killed Hydra and Killer Punch to keep the secret. Dead-End and Magmatron agreed that mutiny was their only option. While Magmatron attempted to gather the rest of the crew to their side, Dead-End was assaulted by Synapse and then Medusa, one of their Destructon attackers who slipped aboard during the attack. Medusa drove off Synapse but then caused more damage to the ship's engines, making a planet-crash all but inevitable.
Meanwhile, Magmatron had learned the Dinosaur was actually the old Decepticon war criminal Trypticon, and was actively working against them and the captain, Full-Tilt. While the chief tried to stabilize the ship, Dead-End tried to infiltrate the computer core and shut down Trypticon's higher reasoning to reclaim control of the vessel. Trypticon defended himself with internal defenses and his Brunt drone, but Dead-End had the advantage of surprise when she sicc'ed Gnaw on the tank. Dead-End was able to breach Trypticon's brain and shut him down.
The ship was unable to remain in the air, but Full-Tilt managed to guide it down to LGC-8803 and unfold it into a new colony, Dinosaur City. Dead-End and Gnaw chose to remain behind on Dinosaur City with other members of the crew and related associates while Magmatron took others back to join the uprising. Intersectionality

Toys
Beast Wars

- Dead End (Basic, 1999)
- Japanese ID number: D-32
- Accessories: Left & right "Spiral Bomb" shell halves, "Dead Gun" tentacle-cannon
- Part of the first wave of Beast Wars Neo toys, Dead End transforms into an
Ammoniteammonite, an ancient relative of the nautilus (and not, as he is often described, a tasty peppermint candy). His main grasper tentacles separate to form a hand-held weapon for robot mode. The shell-half on his right shoulder is actually a very large spring-loaded missile, granting him the distinction of having the largest missile-to-body ratio in all of Transformers.
- Like many Beast Wars Neo toys, he is a shellformer, and his transformation involves carefully arranging many robot bits just so without the benefit of any sort of "tab A into slot B" mechanics within his shell halves. Good luck.

- Undersea Showdown: Break VS Dead End (VS pack, January 1999)
- Japanese ID number: VS-32
- Accessories: Left & right "Spiral Bomb" shell halves, "Dead Gun" tentacle-cannon
- Dead End was available both as an individual and in an "Undersea Showdown" (海中の対決 kaichū no taiketsu) two-pack with the Maximal Break. Both toys are identical to their individual releases.
Notes
- The Beast Wars: Uprising incarnation of Dead-End is a "virtual redeco" of Power Core Combiners Undertow.
