Split for universe and franchise?

[edit]

Doesn't the Beast Wars: Uprising franchise/continuity deserve a separate page of its own from the universal stream Primax 209.0 Gamma? That's how this wiki goes with the 2005 IDW continuity/Primax 1005.19 Gamma, Wings Universe/Primax 509.28 Epsilon, etc. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 19:47, 23 May 2015 (EDT)

Primax 215.19 Epsilon

[edit]

What should be done about the reference to "Primax 215.19 Epsilon" made in Lio Convoy: Unity Through Tyranny? The AVP entries referring to Beast Wars: Uprising were edited to refer to Primax 215.19 Epsilon instead, but since those edits were made after December 31 2016, Fun Pub staff have indicated that they shouldn't be considered "canon". Should we make a new page for it, or a subsection on this page...? --Riptide (talk) 11:26, 29 March 2017 (EDT)

I think a note on this page. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 11:44, 29 March 2017 (EDT)
Guys, one universe can have more than one universal stream. Both this one and that one refer to the Uprising universe, just at different points in its timeline. I mean, you wouldn't consider the FSRLTF cartoon, The Headmasters cartoon, and the Masterforce cartoon to all be in different universes just because each one was given their own unique stream designation, would you? --Sabrblade (talk) 12:21, 29 March 2017 (EDT)
It's pretty evident that the writers' intention was to place Blackarachnia's bio in a different continuity to the Beast Wars Uprising stories.--Primestar3 (talk) 17:38, 25 May 2017 (EDT)
Not all streams are separate continuities. People need to stop treating each stream as always and only referring to a single entire universe when instead the designations simply denote a specific point in a universe's timeline. When David Bishop gave his explanation for the designation, he ended it with noting that said explanation was but one interpretation among several equally valid ones, and reiterated the "multiple streams in one universe" notion that even Vector Prime mentioned (for the Japanese Generation 1 cartoon continuity) way back on June 22, 2015. Because there are multiple possibilities for what this stream could entail, we as a Wiki ought to be as impartial towards this as possible in coming up with a workable treatment for this stream designation. --Sabrblade (talk) 18:31, 25 May 2017 (EDT)
I've never argued on the contrary but the sole purpose of Primax 215.19 Epsilon is to explain the condradictions between two seemingly connected stories by placing them in two different universes. That was their intention, David Bishop himself has admitted that according to the link above. (If you notice, I said "writers' intention" in my original post). Anyway, I'll stop now --Primestar3 (talk) 19:08, 25 May 2017 (EDT)
