Talk:Circuit Breaker (G1)
Notice that her outfit seems to be different in pretty well every single frame?
- Erm...nanites. That's it. Yah. --Ratbat 07:34, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Copyright 2009 Marvel Comics
I don't know much about Copyright, but I don't understand why she would be a 2009 copyright of Marvel Comics (as stated in Classic Transformers Volume 5). They haven't used her since '91. Or whenever Secret Wars II was, depending how you look at it. But 2009? - Starfield 12:45, 7 January 2010 (EST)
- Also, I think Circuit Breaker is owned by Marvel, but Josie Beller isn't. --ItsWalky 13:26, 7 January 2010 (EST)
- I could be wrong, but I believe Marvel put out a Secret Wars II Omnibus in 2009, and while that doesn't solve the question of them owning Josie versus CB, but it was my understanding that reprinting those issues somehow renewed their copyright? I'm probably misunderstanding all that. But I know they put out the Omnibus in 2009. Skyshock Thunderblast 02:46, 12 July 2010 (EDT)
- Marvel owns "Circuit Breaker," and the circuit-covered design the same way they own their versions of "Thor" and "Hercules" and the designs those characters have. Josie Beller appeared as an engineering genius in July 1985, and was upgraded to Transformer-hating mostly-paralyzed engineering genius sworn to get revenge in August 1985. That much Hasbro would have ownership of, and they and their licensors would be able to use (although they might get a "reminder" from Marvel's lawyers not to give her a robot-killing circuitboard bikini), but they wouldn't be able to use the "Circuit Breaker" who showed up in September 1985's Secret Wars. Marvel didn't think anyone would want to use a largely-paralyzed supergenius sworn to kill Transformers without a sexy design and cool superpowers. They're probably right.Damo (talk) 13:53, 14 May 2015 (EDT)
Super Hero Squad prototype
That was done by a fan, along with the Robot Heroes Skullcruncher and Grax. See here: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/238203-rh-skullcruncher-cb-movie-sam-frenzy.html Bobpiecheese 19:46, 18 November 2010 (EST)
- I have got to stop doing this. --Thylacine 2000 19:50, 18 November 2010 (EST)
- I thought it was real too. It was on the front page on TFW. :( --24.70.12.44 22:35, 18 November 2010 (EST)

Merchandise Coverage Question
I have a very... interesting question in terms of our merchandise coverage. I know technically, she is a Marvel character. But Josie is intrinsically tied to Transformers in such a way that I am curious if we would apply our standards to external characters to any merchandise of her, in light of her external status being a pure technicality. This is relevant because, well, I just learned and have procured a 2020 Marvel Masterpieces card depicting her classic appearance (with no other TF-related content) and am curious if it would meet the standards to be catalogued here as 'merchandise' or if the lack of Hasbro/TF would preclude it here as it does for other external characters.--RonimusPrime (talk) 13:26, 25 February 2021 (EST)
- If it wasn't published under an official Transformers label - and it wasn't - then we can't include it. At the most, it could be shown in the "Notes" section as a curiosity, like Marvel Legends Death's Head. --Thylacine 2000 (talk) 14:11, 25 February 2021 (EST)
