Galvatron forges an alliance with the Quintessons to destroy the Autobots.

Synopsis

Desperate to eliminate the Autobots, the Quintessons trick Galvatron with tales of a Decepticon Matrix. The Decepticon leader is soon leading his army in a two-pronged attack on both Cybertron and Earth, swiftly overwhelming all opposition. Rodimus Prime undertakes a journey within the Matrix of Leadership to find out why the Quintessons seek to destroy the Autobots, and in the process learns the origins of both the Autobot and Decepticon factions.

When Blitzwing learns that the Decepticon Matrix doesn't exist and the Quintessons intend to activate an ancient device to deactivate all Transformers, he is compelled to join forces with the Autobots. The Quintessons succeed in activating their device, but Spike destroys it. Reactivated, Galvatron prepares to attack Rodimus, only to be prevented by Blitzwing. Meanwhile, the Quintessons retreat.
