Nickelodeon
Making its debut onto the airwaves on April 1, 1979, Nickelodeon (or often called Nick for short) is the first cable channel dedicated to children's programming, owned by ViacomCBS. Throughout the 1990s, the network has become a global juggernaut by showcasing their own live action programming and in-house animated cartoons (dubbed as "Nicktoons") dedicated to families worldwide. A small handful of their animated shows includes of Rugrats, Doug, The Red & Stimpy Show, Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold, Kablam, The Angry Beavers, Catdog, The Wild Thornberries, SpongeBob SquarePants and countless shows just to name a few, including live action shows like the sketch comedy All That! for example and distributing currently Hasbro wise, Power Rangers.
Nickelodeon later expanded to establish programming blocks outside of their main demographic, launching "Nick Jr." for pre-schoolers, "TeenNick" for teenagers, "Nick at Nite" for prime-time television and "NickRewind" for older programming. Since 1988, Nickelodeon launched their own awards ceremony called the "Kids Choice Awards", in which the likes of Dwayne Johnson, Josh Duhamel, Mark Wahlberg and John Cena served as hosts and got the honored of being slimed in tradition of the brand. In 1995, their film studio was launched and their movies are distributed by sister studio, Paramount Pictures. As of 2021, they are the current owners of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Winx Club and the Garfield franchises.
Relevant to this wiki, they will be producing an untitled animated series in conjunction with Entertainment One.[1]
