G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers issue 1
Template:Comicnav The assault on Chocolate City.
Synopsis
A chamber containing the bodies of several deactivated Transformers, both Autobots and Decepticons is opened, discovered by Cobra.
Later, Cobra Commander and the Baroness oversee the extraction of all useful technology from the vessel containing the robots. As the commander speculates the age of the ship and its occupants, Megatron awakens just long enough to give the commander a brief scare.
Later, a small team of military officials stand guard over a peace talks in Washington, D.C. The talkative soldier nicknamed Snake-Eyes also being the subject of a bet that he could remain silent for the operation's duration. While the peace talks go well (albeit with minor interference from protesters), several Cobra vehicles drop their cover and proceed to raid the crowd, with no concern for innocent life.
Air Force jets arrive to help resist the attackers, but they are quickly evaded by the Cobra jets enhanced with alien technology. One of the jets transforms, revealing itself to be Thundercracker, who tears through the Air Force jet. The American pilot barely ejects to safety in time.
On the ground, Cobra Commander and The Baroness reveal their army of Autobot/Cobra troops. The transformers tear into Government property. Snake-Eyes uses conventional weaponry to try to dissuade the robot, but a pulse of energy destroys his transport and his face.
Some time after the attack is ofter, General Flagg reviews footage of assault, wherein after excessive destruction, the invaders carved their name where it can be seen, and then left. Flagg announces that the surviving soldiers will form a special-response task-force named G.I. Joe to combat the threat, lead by Colonel Abernathy.
