DC Comics
From MediaWiki
DC Comics is a U.S. comic book company originally founded in 1934 as National Comics Publications, and a property of Warner Bros. since the 1960s. They are the primary rival to Marvel Comics and owner of world-renowned characters such as Superman, Batman, and the Joker. While DC has yet to formally collaborate with Hasbro on a Transformers project, many freelance creators at IDW Publishing have done work for DC.
Notes
- In the late 2000s, Phil Jimenez, in collaboration with IDW Publishing editor-in-chef Chris Ryall, pitched a comic book crossover between the Transformers and DC Comics' Justice League. Sadly, the pitch never came to fruition,[1] likely in part due to the massive The New 52 reboot project of 2011.
- Artist Jim Lee currently serves as both Publisher and Chief Creative Officer of the company, with the latter position previously held by Dan DiDio until early 2020.
