It's time to double up!

It has been suggested this article should be merged with Bullets.
If you disagree, please discuss why on its talk page.

This isn't a story in its own right, it's an out-of-universe feature presenting deleted scenes with author commentary. The hardcover's contents page even writes it like 'Out of "Bullets"'

Synopsis

As part of the Ethics Committee, Trailbreaker asks Ironfist whether the fact that his weapon kills instead of incapacitating is a "success". Ironfist admits a lack of pride in the fact, but internally realizes his amorality towards the creation of killing tools and his lack of a tipping point where he would realize that he had gone too far.

Springer goes over his selection for the next Wreckers mission and thinks of just what they're signing up for. Indeed, Wreckers only leave for three reasons: death, dishonorable discharge, and dementia. After checking up on their Autopedia entries, Springer makes his selections firm—Rotorstorm, Guzzle, Pyro, and Skyfall. After receiving Springer's selections for approval, Prowl calls Springer about his choices...

To cheer up Springer, Kup tells him of the time when a prisoner intentionally committed suicide to escape Prowl's lectures. Springer informs Kup that he and Perceptor are wanted on the mission by Prowl, the two being what Prowl refers to as "Plan B".

In his lab, Ironfist is preparing to leave for the Wreckers mission, knowing of Aequitas and its security system requiring the donation of one's spark from Prowl. It is a fate he would prefer over his inevitable death from his cerebro-sensitive bullet injury. A small part of himself realizes he is being exploited, but such dissent is ignored.

Notes

  • "Out of Bullets" comprises scenes originally edited out of "Bullets". It was only included in the hardcover edition of Last Stand of the Wreckers as a sort of "deleted scenes" extra, but was omitted from the subsequent Wreckers Saga trade paperback, which includes all the other bonus material from the individual issues of Last Stand, the trade paperback and the hardcover.
