Big Wing was Trickdiamond's mentor. A laid-back type, he was happy to simply show her the wonders of Cybertron rather than force her into a career, and was content to let her drift onto a path that suited her. Eventually, he went off to explore the galaxy; he was visiting the energon-processing colony on Mayalx when Devastator attacked and killed everyone.

Trickdiamond eventually learned of her mentor's death, although the official cover story was that a freak asteroid impact had wiped out the colony and everyone in it. Notes

• Big Wing is not directly identified at any point in the story, but during the one-panel flashback you can see a bronze-colored Transformer being crushed in Devastator's fist. It's possible that this is actually Big Wing—a similar 'bot did appear in Galaxies issue #4 as one of Devastator's many victims, but he was shown getting stepped on, not picked up and crushed.
