Reason: He's the only Viper that's a Mini-con, but not the only Viper from G1.


Viper is a Mini-Con from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Vipers have two specialties: corrosive acid spit and devastating sarcastic comebacks. The latter ability suffers a little as the Mini-Con language can only be understood by Mini-Cons, but Vipers make up for this issue with extremely hard stares.

Transformers: Heavy Metal

The Mini-Cons were all brought to Earth from another dimension by Micronus Prime and could be found by humans in the Guardian Program equipped with an Autobot Scanner modified with Decepticon technology. Once located and recruited by paying them Energon, Vipers could be partnered with Autobots to give them new abilities. Transformers: Heavy Metal

Notes

  • Abilities granted by Viper include:
    • Acid Splash — Inflict corrode on opponent for the next five turns.
    • Hydro Hiss — Destroy an amount of the opponent's armor for the next five turns.
    • Squanderlust — Opponent loses energy, and then loses energy on the following turn.
