Slicks was one of several Renegades, alongside Crasher, Destroyer, and Cy-Kill, to be battling against the Guardians on a rogue planet. Their conflict caught the attention of the ancient Guerr-O-Vac supercomputer, which abducted all participants and forced them to do battle in the Arena of Strife. Slicks was able to best Van Guard through speed and cunning.

Cy-Kill stated that, had Slicks been available, he would have been raced in the Alienapolis Five Million.

During Cy-Kill's fictitious presidential campaign, Slicks was sent to gather signatures at the Indianapolis racing circuit. Ask Vector Prime
