Larissa Karza, aka the Orbital Defender, is (unwillingly) a member of the Micronauts. Originally brought along on one of their usual jobs as insurance, the job quickly went south, and she has since joined the crew while trapped on Earth. Both a warrior and a scientist, Larissa is the creator of her suit's portable defense technology, with which she can create force fields to protect her fellow Micronauts or defend innocent civilians. However, given how little even her fellow Micronauts know about her, there may be more to Larissa than meets the eye.

While Scarlett expressed her worry about what other forces could appear on Earth following Optimus Prime's activities, Larissa and the Micronauts were in the middle of a battle. Secret Raiders

After flying into the entropy storm in an attempt to both save their universe and escape Baron Karza, the Micronauts were attacked by Reptos, a race of beings previously thought destroyed by the cloud. Larissa used her defense technology to help fight off the Reptos until the crew was saved by the mysterious Time Traveller.

Several days into their journey, while tracking a mysterious energy source, the Micronauts received a message from Baron Karza. Karza told them that though it has only been a few days for them inside the storm, years have passed in Microspace. Karza then explained that he followed them. The Micronauts soon arrived at location of the energy source, or as Karza called it, the birthplace of Microspace: the body of Micronus Prime. Micronauts: Revolution

Karza explained how Micronus Prime held a living gateway, a space bridge, to another reality. Within this reality was a crystalline substance that could stabilize the Microverse and end the threat of the entropy cloud. Urged on by both Karza and the Time Traveler, Oziron led the Micronauts through the space bridge and into this new realm. O Ship of State They arrived inside Autobot City, but crossed paths with another infiltrator, the ninja-commando Snake-Eyes. After an encounter with both him and Arcee, they lay down arms long enough to find a solution that benefited both worlds. Alongside Rom, Spaceknight, they helped defend Autobot City from an invasion by the Dire Wraiths and Miles Mayhem's M.A.S.K. agents. All without understanding a word of English. That last bit proved costly when Baron Karza emerged from the Space Bridge as well and used "enerchange" to meld with the Dire Wraiths, bonding them to his armor. The New Colossus

Oz reasoned that Karza was using the vibratory frequency of the Ore-13 crystals as an energy source to neutralize the entropy cloud back in Microspace, but as a consequence the crystals were left violently and explosively unstable back on Earth. Realizing they could not sacrifice the safety of Earth for the security of Microspace, the Micronauts teamed with Mainframe, Soundwave, Rom, and Matt Trakker to stabilize the crystals and enerchange with the Space Bridge to draw Karza back into Microspace. The Micronauts were blown far afield and away from their allies in the backlash, however, and found themselves in the custody of human scientists. Valley Forge

Notes

  • Larissa is a character from IDW's Micronauts series. She is extremely liberally based on the Galactic Defender figure from the original Micronauts toyline, renamed for (presumably) trademark reasons.
