Ore-9 is a variety of artificial energon found on Velocitron, capable of warping space.

Many years later — or earlier, depending on your perspective — the temporally displaced Shockwave, as "Onyx Prime," used supplies of Ore-9 in conjunction with Ore-1 and Ore-10 to manipulate the Titan Metrotitan, sending him through time and space to perpetuate the lie that Starscream was the "Chosen One" in service of his goals. Velocitron's supplies of Ore-9 were absorbed by Unicron when the world-eater attacked and consumed the colony. Unstopped and Unstoppable Unicron made liberal usage of the ore's power thereafter, teleporting himself directly to his next target whenever he'd destroyed a planet.
