- Ranger is a Autobot from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Ranger (レインジャー Reinjā) is a former Transtector who gained life from and independently of his former owner, Ranger, via the power of Masterforce. As such, Ranger takes after the human's personality.

Super-God Masterforce cartoon
The super-energy alien being and self-styled "Decepticon god" Devil Z stole several transtectors from an area of space known as the G Nebula. Already filled with the Tenchōkon of the nebula, the transtectors were then scattered across the Earth by Devil Z, that they might absorb the planet's Chichōkon. Devil Z planned to have human beings bond to the transtectors, adding their inherent Jinchōkon to the equation, thereby creating a new super-robotic lifeform: Godmasters. One transtector would eventually fall into the hands of a human named Ranger, who used the transtector in conjunction with the Master-Braces found within to join the battle against the Decepticons. In the wake of Devil Z's destruction, the bond between the Autobot humans and their Transtectors was broken, and Ranger became a normal human again as his now-living Transtector and those of all the other Autobots headed into space to continue the fight against the Decepticons. Ranger, a native-born Cybertronian, was part of the only dedicated unit in the original Autobot Guard. The Advanced Observation Unit, comprising him, Powerflash, Sentinel Major, Halonix Maximus, and their commander, Big Bang, was so exceptional that it served as part of the impetus for Magnum's formation of the Elite Guard. Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers

- Accessories: Godmaster Transtector, "Napalm Blaster”
- Ranger's Transtector transforms into a red and baby-blue baja buggy, into the roof of which the figure's grey "Napalm Blaster" rifle can be plugged. Like any Godmaster, the figure cannot transform into robot mode until the Ranger Godmaster figure is transformed into engine mode and snapped into place in the socket in the toy's hood.
- Ranger was sold concurrently in Hasbro markets as Joyride and Hotwire, with green and magenta plastic in place of Ranger's white and red. Later in the year, the Godmaster engine was redecoed into the Masterforce Warrior Aquastar.
