Energon grid (technology)

Energon grids are planetary defenses in the Energon portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.

The energon grid is a matrix of intersecting lasers that use energon as a power source; it operates on the same principle as energon weapons. The energon grid is used as a shield for planets such as Earth, Cybertron, and all of Alpha Q's worlds.
