Tarn is a Decepticon supersoldier from the Cyberverse continuity family.
I hope they are watching. They'll see... they'll see... and they'll know... and they'll say... "why, he wouldn't even harm a fly..."

Part of the supposed perfect Decepticon race, Tarn was once simply a nameless drone, but no longer. With a mind of his own, his missing arm and battered state belies his sheer strength, though it pales in comparison to his deceptiveness. Living up to the symbol he wears on his face, Tarn deceives those around to accomplish his one goal: to surpass Megatron by finishing what he started. Much like the great leader he replaced, he fancies theatrics in front of a large audience to prove his capabilities and that of his army. If he did not believe other Decepticons would follow in his peace-destroying footsteps, Tarn would have been, and maybe still is, the perfect Decepticon.

I have not betrayed. I have deceived. Have you forgotten, Optimus... that I am a Decepticon?

The Perfect Decepticon

In another universe, Megatron used the power of Vector Sigma to create A race of Decepticon supersoldiers. One of these soldiers evolved beyond his programming and named himself Tarn. He had, at some point, killed his universe's Soundwave.

When the supersoldiers enetered the normal univerese (without Megatron X) while fighting each other for leadership of the Decepticons, Tarn was attacked by two other clones. Despite the Autobots and Decepticons restraining the two, Tarn shot them with his cannon. Tarn said that this was because they posed a threat to everyone. After attempts to stop the fighting between the clones proved fruitless, Tarn offered a solution in the form of the Cortex Helm.
