A friend of Cyclonus, Provoke fought in the War of the Threefold Spark alongside Gridlock, Grudge, Highfire and Paragon. Just before a battle at Tagan Heights, it was Provoke who informed Paragon his plans of post-war retirement with Cyclonus to Neutronia were no good, since she'd heard Turmoil had melted half the planet. Later on in the war, after a fight at the Hydrax Plateau, Paragon had been captured and dragged off-world by the fleeing Turmoil. Provoke assured Cyclonus they'd get him back, but the mood was broken by an assailant shooting Gridlock through the head.

Provoke managed to last up until the final fight of the war, which took place on the edge of Iacon. She and Cyclonus were separated during the fighting, and when she found her friend again he was in a state of shock. Provoke reassured him that for Exarchon, the fight was already lost. However, her reassurance was short lived when she was shot through the chest, killing her instantly. The traumatised Cyclonus began seeing a hallucination of Provoke, along with the rest of his friends, bearing the injuries that killed her. Cyclonus's hallucination of Provoke was more waspish and short-tempered than the real thing. The Cracks Beneath Your Feet Part Four War World: Titans Darkness, Once Gazed Upon: Part One

Her name was inscribed on the Memorial Crater, along with all those who'd fallen in the fight. At Provoke's behest, Cyclonus took up a solitary vigil of the Memorial Crater – the site where the War of the Threefold Spark ended – though some of the other ghosts such as Highfire and Gridlock questioned this mission. The Cracks Beneath Your Feet Part One One night, the ghosts and Cyclonus saw a mysterious blue mechanoid kill Brainstorm. Shortly thereafter, Windblade and Chromia came to the crater while investigating, and got into a fight with Cyclonus, who denied causing the murder, and declined to tell the two what he'd seen. The hallucination of Provoke commented afterward that it didn't matter, because if Cybertron thought one death was important, they'd forgotten what real trouble looked like. The World In Your Eyes Part Four

Soon after, the memorial crater was badly damaged as a result of Windblade and Chromia's investigations. While Cyclonus brooded at the ruin's edge, his hallucination of Provoke suggested he go and kill the parties responsible, either to stop them doing worse, or as an attempt at healing Cyclonus's mental scars. The Change In Your Nature Part Five

As Cyclonus went to Iacon to look for Chromia, hoping he could lead her to Sixshot, the other ghosts noticed the tension of the crowd around them. Cyclonus wasn't interested, regarding it as not his fight. Provoke merely commented it wasn't his fight yet. Rise of the Decepticons: We Have Deceived You When Cyclonus found Sixshot's trail, it was Provoke who commented the hunt was on. War World: Awakenings When the trail led to one Decepticon hideout, and an uncooperative guard at the front door, Provoke told Grudge to stop cheering Cyc on and allow him to focus. War World: Hunt

In the aftermath of the Titan Cargohold crashing into the Memorial Crater, the body of Provoke was found in the rubble by the Decepticons Roadtrap and Gutcruncher. War World: Titans Assuming his friend was alive again meant that Cyclonus stopped seeing her ghost inside his mind, replacing her with Paragon, a move Gridlock's hallucination found preferable.
