Princess Cadance received an urgent message from Smolder and her friends that the Decepticons had all seemingly disappeared from the areas they had been sighted, though the Autobots had suspected this meant they were up to something. Before Cadance could speculate further, she was interrupted as the Decepticons and changelings tore a hole in her castle, with Megatron and Chrysalis demanding she turn over any magical artifacts and surrender the Empire to them. Cadance was unfazed, declaring the wasn't alone; indeed, her sister-in-law and fellow princess Twilight Sparkle soon arrived, joined by Optimus Prime and an army of Autobots and ponies. As the two sides engaged in a final battle, Cadance stood firm protecting the castle, joining the other unicorns in creating a shield against Shockwave's laser fire before repelling him with a massive blast of magic.
