[edit]

Shawn was a small-time criminal who underwent cybernetic enhancement to become Transhuman. He and his partners Grindor and Sureshock received their upgrades from Side Burn of the Autobots. Shawn wanted to be called "Haywire" but his mask muffled his voice, and he ultimately stuck with "Highwire". Side Burn had been augmenting them for his own purposes, hoping to use their cybernetic hybrid bodies to power a gateway through dimensions on behalf of the Underbase. When that plan fell through, Highwire joined the other alien hybrids gathered by Side Burn's compatriots in traveling through space to return to their home worlds. Coalescence

The Universe version of High Wire was repurposed as Shattered Glass Highwire.
Available only as a Wal-Mart exclusive, Universe High Wire is a redeco of Armada High Wire, transforming into a tiny BMX bicycle with turning pedals. Unlike the rest of his team, his colors remain mostly the same, with the only real change being the combiner head kibble, which is green instead of blue. High Wire combines with Grindor and Sureshock to form Perceptor.
Oddly, all photos on the card show the set in their respective molds' original color schemes, with Sunstorm replaced with Thrust and the Mini-Cons in their Armada colors.
