"Transformers? I tried to voice them all at least once!"

Georges Atlas (August 14, 1926 - February 26, 1996) was a French actor and voice actor. He was incredibly prolific during his career, particularly with voice acting and dubbing, where he worked on European originals (such as the Tintin and the Astérix franchises).

He was the regular French voice of Lee Van Cleef, Will Sampson and Ernest Borgnine, but also Boba Fett in The Star Wars Holiday Special and The Empire Strikes Back.

In animation, his roles included the French voices of Crag in Captain Future, the narrator in Dragon Ball and Ganon in the animated The Legend of Zelda series.

Incidentals

The European French dub of The Transformers was pretty casual about maintaining voice actor continuity across episodes.

Notes

  • Georges Atlas is the only actor to have been involved in both the French dub of the series and that of the 1986 film. He was given in The Movie the role of Grimlock, a character he previously dubbed only once in the "Desertion of the Dinobots" episodes, but it was probably a coincidence since it seems the dubbing team for The Movie was not aware of the work done on the dub of the series.
