Shockwave and the Dinobots were buried by a volcanic eruption in what would be Eureka in the future.

After humans settled in the area and created the polity of Eureka, an archaeological team led by Professor Goring found the Transformers buried in ancient lava. Spotlight: Shockwave The dig was later taken into the control of Skywatch, who realized the significance of the buried robots. Escalation #5
